This Gingerbread French Toast is the perfect Christmas brunch. Ginger and molasses infused toast topped with maple syrup – delicious!

Ingredients
- 3 Eggs
- ¾ Cup / 190ml Milk or Cream
- ¼ Cup / 60ml Molasses or Treacle
- 3 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp Nutmeg
- 1 Crusty Loaf
- Butter for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl mix together the eggs, milk, molasses, sugar and spices until well combined.
- Slice the bread into 8 slices, about 1 inch or 2cm thick.
- Heat a frypan over medium heat and add 1 tsp of butter.
- Dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture for 10 to 20 seconds, flipping over half way. Let the excess mixture drip off.
- Place the bread slice into the frypan and cook for about 3-4 minutes each side.
- Serve warm topped with sugar and maple syrup.
